Fusilier Fun Day, 29th July

Fusilier Fun Day at the Museum and Warwick Market

There will be a Fusilier Fun Day on Saturday 29th July. You can visit us at our museum (10am-5pm) and our stall at the Warwick Market (from 9am).

At both locations you will find a variety of objects from the collection as well as the museum's experts. There will also be the Royal Warwickshire Regiment Re-enactment Group, who re-enact the 2nd Battalion and its involvement in Normandy following D-Day. There will even be a chance to dress-up!

The day will also mark the launch of the Big Summer Art Competition, where you can design your own soldier from any historical period relating to the Regiment. All soldiers will be added to a painting (featured above). There will be prizes to be won in age categories - 6 & under, 11 & under, and 12 or above. The judges will be looking for a bold design, accuracy and even soldiers in action!

A lot of activities will also be on offer for you to do at the museum, including:

  • Quizzes

  • Handling genuine items from the war

  • Talking to experts

  • Touchscreens

  • Dressing up
